Easy Upgrade To Kubuntu Feisty From Edgy

Network upgrade for Kubuntu desktops (recommended)

You can easily upgrade over the network with the following procedure.

1. Open the Adept Manager by going to KMenu -> System -> Adept Manager (Manage Packages).

2. In Adept -> Manage Repositories enable edgy-updates (or feisty-updates “Recommended Updates” if you are already on feisty)

3. If you are using the Edgy KDE 3.5.6 repository, also add deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-356-pre-feisty-upgrade/ edgy main

4. If your system is up to date, the upgrade wizard will be offered it via the Version Upgrade button. Otherwise:

1. Press the Full Upgrade button.
2. Press the Apply Changes button.
3. Once the packages are installed, exit the Adept Manager (Adept -> Quit).
4. Repeat the initial steps (1-4).

A Day At The Biedenharn

The Biedenharn is a garden and museum at the home of Emy-Lou Biedenharn, daughter of Joe Biedenharn, the originator of bottled coca-cola. This past Saturday, admission was free and we thought we’d go take a look.

I must post a small disclaimer up front. I don’t claim to be a professional photographer as the following photos will bear out. I also don’t post personal photo posts often at all, so be gentle in your remarks. Finally, I didn’t have my camera with me, so all these were taken with the camera built into my Moto Razr.

First, a few general pics of the gardens to give you an idea what a photogenic setting it is:
